US bars imports from China footwear, seafood, aluminum firms over Uyghur labor

The U.S. government has added three more companies to its list of firms allegedly involved with Uyghur forced labor in China. The companies are Dongguan Oasis Shoes Co, Xinjiang Shenhuo Coal and Electricity Co, and Shandong Meijia Group Co, also known as Rizhao Meijia Group. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that this move is part of their effort to prevent goods made with forced labor from entering the U.S. market, with a particular focus on the seafood, aluminum, and shoe sectors in Xinjiang.
